Dyami Starks

Founder & Director

Starks Elite Youth Coordinator (AAU)​

​

Dyami Starks has provided youth with basketball workouts and skills clinics for the past ten years. He has mentored youth in the United States & abroad. A Duluth East alumnus, Dyami played Division 1 basketball at Bryant University in Rhode Island, before going on to play professional basketball in Australia, Kazakhstan, Turkey & Latvia. Dyami serves as a coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx Youth Basketball Academy.

 

Dyami is dedicated to sharing his global experiences and basketball knowledge with youth across the Northland.  He is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment, where basketball players of all abilities have the opportunity to benefit from his expertise.

CJ is the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Duluth Marshall, where he won over 20 games and advanced to the Section Final game in his first year at the helm. Since that time, he has collected over 60 wins while leading  the Duluth Marshall girls basketball team to two State Tournaments. 

 

A native of Washington D.C. CJ understands the importance of academics paired with athletics, and his approach to mentoring and coaching youth basketball for the past eight years has proven that. 

​

CJ was an academic All-American and All-Conference guard at Hibbing Community College. He went on to complete his schooling at the University of Wisconsin Superior earning his degree in Exercise Science. 

 

CJ has coached multiple AAU teams and trained a wide range of age groups from elementary to professional.

Ever wonder why Esko Basketball has been one of the most successful, consistent high school programs in the Northland? One of the biggest reasons is youth development, and Matt Berger is the-behind-the scenes basketball guru in charge of Esko's youth.

​

Having been around the game of basketball his entire life, Matt has a technical and gifted basketball mind. with a unique talent for working with youth. 

​

A former Varsity Head Coach for 18 years, Matt has been a coach in Esko for the past 9 years, the last 2 of which he has served as the Youth Basketball Director and Hoops Club Vice President.  Matt also serves as a Starks Elite AAU assistant coach.
